Secaucus teachers bested Secaucus police in a friendly game of basketball to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital last week.
The game was held at the Secaucus High School gymnasium last Wednesday in front of a crowd of more than 300 spectators. The Harlem Wizards provided halftime entertainment and the event raised approximately $3,500 for the cause.
Allan Bonin led the co-ed team of teachers, which sported St. Jude’s t-shirts and prevailed with a 54-43 win. Secaucus is among the top school districts for raising funds for St. Jude’s in New Jersey and second in the nation.
The PBA squad was led by officer Mike Bronowich who assembled an experienced team of players, many of whom grew up playing in Buchmuller Park.
